Plan airlifted aid to the community of Joya Grande in San Salvador (EN INGLES)

It all begun with a call from an unexpected source. On November 9th, a colonel from the Armed Forces called Plan El Salvador
and offered air support to reach the community of Joya Grande, where many families were stranded due to the floods and the
destruction of their roads and other access channels.

Al menos seis organizaciones no gubernamentales de carácter internacional y con enfoque en atención a la niñez salvadoreña han respondido con ayuda inmediata a la emergencia nacional, especialmente a través de artículos de primera necesidad como alimentos, colchonetas, agua, medicinas, ropa, zapatos y productos de higiene personal, entre otros, distribuidos en los albergues y comunidades más afectadas de los cinco departamentos duramente golpeados por la tormenta.

Heavy Floods strike El Salvador (EN INGLES)

On November 7th, Hurricane Ida and a tropical depression from the Pacific coast both hit El
Salvador with heavy rains to the extent that there have been 350 mm of precipitation in just 24
hours, which is about the same amount of precipitation caused by Hurricane Stan in five
days. Such heavy rains have caused floods and mudslides, impacting thousands of families in at
least five departments of El Salvador.
